Welcome Rebecca Spilchak, our new Community Engagement Associate!

We're delighted to welcome Rebecca Spilchak to the Burnt Thicket Theatre team as our new Community Engagement Associate. Rebecca's an emerging artist, content creator, and a student at USask. This new role supports our public relations and will be a catalyst for growing good relationships with new audiences, communities, and supporters who haven't as yet encountered our work.

Rebecca says, "I'm excited to combine my interests in theatre and digital marketing in this new role at Burnt Thicket!" 

"I have no doubt Rebecca will be a great asset in this new role," says artistic director Stephen Waldschmidt. "Rebecca brings a host of skills and, for someone just finishing university, has remarkably extensive experience with marketing and community outreach in professional theatre as well as agriculture. I can't wait to see how she will help us to develop new connections in the community and kindle hopeful change in more people's lives."

Bio: Rebecca Spilchak is an actor and a student in her final year of her BFA. She is originally from Treaty 4 territory (Ituna, Saskatchewan) and is now happy to call Treaty 6 her home. They are very passionate about theatre and music but also have a knack for digital content which makes them very excited for this new opportunity with Burnt Thicket Theatre! Rebecca has recently appeared in Romeo + Juliet and As You Like It (Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan) and The Reel Whirld (SUM Theatre in the Park).
