Dominga Robinson

Dominga Robinson is Nakota and Jamaican woman from the Pheasant Rump First Nations in Southeast Saskatchewan. She has been involved in the theatre world since the young age of 8 and in that time has performed in a number of productions, directed the Vagina Monologues (2008) and had the play she wrote, Two Spirits, produced by the First Nations University’s and University of Regina Theatre’s Indigenous Performance Production program in 2012. She played Philomena in The Rez Sisters (2015) at the Globe Theatre in Regina and most recently Other People’s Heaven where she played Viola Desmond, the icon from the $5 bill. Dominga believes and advocates for the power of arts and culture in breaking down barriers in society, in fostering empathy and ultimately changing the world for the better. She believes this production of Coffee Talk is another chapter in that movement.
