We're very happy to welcome Emma Eaton to the Burnt Thicket Theatre team as our new General Manager!
Emma is an interdisciplinary theatre artist and seasoned arts administrator, with a B.A. in Theatre and Performance from U of Regina and over 5 years experience in Non-Profit administration.
"I am so thrilled to be joining the Burnt Thicket team as General Manager," Emma says. "I cannot wait to help to produce community focused independent theatre with such a wonderful team! I saw my first Burnt Thicket production shortly before moving to Saskatoon in 2023, and I have been hooked ever since. I am passionate about showcasing new work, asking big questions, and collaborating with amazing artists, and I am so lucky to get all of that right here."
"I'm really thankful Emma is taking this position among our staff," says A.D. Stephen Waldschmidt. "Emma is an energetic, highly-organized, and perceptive person with a passion for theatre that makes a difference in people's lives. They bring a long list of skills and experience in creating theatre, both as an artist and leading the organizing of that work as a producer/administrator, in ways that increase accessibility for all. All of us at Burnt Thicket look forward to how Emma will help lead us into our company's next chapter."

We also send a big thank you to Elizabeth Nepjuk for serving as our Funding Associate this fall!
Liz has been an absolute powerhouse over the last 4 months, joining the team to help us through this grant application season. Liz ensured we had the staff capacity to finish 26 grant and sponsor applications this fall, which are bearing fruit in new grants to ensure our next two productions move forward sustainably.
We were thrilled she wanted to stick around for a bit after acting in our latest runs of Every Brilliant Thing, and we can't wait for the next opportunity to work with her again. Thank you so much, Liz, and all the best in your future endeavours!
