Burnt Thicket Theatre is holding auditions for its 2023 production of Evergreen, a new play by Krista Marushy.

Synopsis:
“Am I just the trial at the end of your wilderness?"
At the Evergreen, a rural diner off the beaten track, an ex-pastor with a broken marriage rebuilds his life within the refuge of solitude. When an inquisitive customer divines information a little too close to home, and a series of coincidences prove particularly meaningful... two strangers are left to wrestle with the purpose behind their connection and their place in each others' lives. An intimate story of stumbling upon someone who has strength to make you stronger.
Production Schedule:
- Rehearsing January 16 to February 3, 2023
- Monday to Saturday daytime rehearsal hours
- Performances February 2 to 12
- Thursday to Sunday performance times
Contract:
Burnt Thicket Theatre engages Equity members under the D.O.T agreement.
Equity & Non-Equity members are welcome to audition.
Role:
We are auditioning for the lead role of Angela (female-identifying, 20-something)
Angela is a young women whose age belies a knowing and grounded sense of herself and the world. Having grown up in a small town with parents who run a religious retreat centre Angela has a strained relationship with her roots. Angela seems to possess a unique gift of insight that complicates her relationship with others.
